Salem Massachusetts

The city of Salem was founded at the mouth of the Naumkeag River in 1626.  Salem was originally called Naumkeag but three years later they changed it to Salem.  Salem is a city in Essex County Massachusetts.  Salem Massachusetts is mostly popularly known for the events of 1692 and from the writing of the CRUCIBLE by Arthur Miller.  Although Salem Massachusetts is a normal community and city just like any other they still play a role in the events that occurred there thousands of years ago.  For example; they have a public school with the name of 'Witchcraft Heights Elementary School' and the Salem High School football logo is witches.  Not only are schools involved in this but police cars are adorned with witch logos as well.  Salem is one of the most interesting cities in the United States with a lot of important history that plays a big role in American society.  Not only is it interesting but Salem was one of the most significant seaports in early America.  This city has many historical sites and museums in memory of the Salem Witchcraft Trials of 1692.
